When you use XDOKU, we can collect the following information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, password (stored securely).
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our platform, such as features used and time spent on the site.
• Generated Content: The documentation, screenshots, and videos generated through our tool are processed locally and only stored on our cloud servers if you explicitly choose to publish or sync them.

2. How we use your information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide, maintain and improve our services.
• To process transactions and send related information, including confirmations and receipts.
• To send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
• To respond to your comments, questions, and requests, and provide customer service.

3. Local Processing vs Cloud Infrastructure

XDOKU Desktop and Extension: In order to maximize your privacy and data security, the capture process (screen recording and DOM capture) happens entirely locally on your device. Videos and images are only uploaded to our cloud infrastructure when you decide to share a guide or publish it online.

Cloud sync: If you use XDOKU Cloud, your data is stored securely using Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase and Cloud Run) in European data centers (europe-west1).

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following cases:

• Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (e.g. payment processing, like Stripe).
• Legal Compliance: If we are required by law to disclose your information, or to protect the rights, property or safety of XDOKU, our users or others.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. However, no internet transmission is ever fully secure or error-free.

You have the right to access, update or delete your personal information at any time from your account settings. You may also contact us if you need assistance with exercising your rights.

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our platform before the changes take effect.
